In terms of grape varieties, Laurenc is simply Lagrein. However, nothing about Lagrein is ever quite simple, especially in the vineyard, where it often struggles with fertility issues, leading to irregular yields. This is one reason why Lagrein, despite its potential, has rarely ventured beyond the borders of South Tyrol and Trentino.
